His work in family history began in 1984. He served as a consultant for the Family History Center in Bilbao for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints between 1991-1997; Later he acted as director of said Family History Center between the years of 1997-1999 and 2007-2013.
He has had articles published for the magazine Euskal Abizenak-Apellidos Vascos, El Social which is a regional supplement for El Correo newspaper, and the bulletin of the Spanish Society of Vexilology.
He was a finalist at the Third Prize for Historical Research by the Town hall of Basauri (Bizkaia) in 1999. He is a member of APG (Association of Professional Genealogists). In recent years, he has been collaborating with Progenealogists in different research projects and was a keynote speaker at RootsTech 2017 in Salt Lake City, UT. Collaborates with Progenealogists since 2015.
